Plant description

Extracted by steam distillation from the needles and from the twigs young of Abies alba Mill. (fir white, silver fir, Weisstanne), large conifera of the Pinaceae widespread in the forests montane of the Central Europe and southern — from the Alps to the Carpathians, from the Apennines to the Pyrenees — where forma the caratteristic forests miste with the faggio in the fascia montana among the 700 and the 1.800 m. AND the fir classic of the decorations natalizie in Central Europe, with needles piatti of colore green bright. The phytochemical profile is dominated by bornyl-acetate (10-25%), alpha-pinene (15-30%), limonene (10-20%) and beta-pinene, with camfene and delta-3-carene. The bornyl-acetate and the key component which provides the note balsamic and the properties expectorant and broncorelaxing typical of the genus Abies. L'fir white has a firma balsamic more fresh and clean compared to the fir red (Picea abies), with less component cerosa and resinous. Recipes & blends
Balm respiratory winter

3 drops Fir white + 2 drops Eucalyptus radiata + 2 drops Thyme white in 15 ml of almond oil. Massage onto chest and back to the primo segnal of cold, 2-three times to day.
