The phytochemical profile of the peel is dominated from d-limonene (85-95%), with octanal, decanal and myrcene which provide the note more bitter and complessa compared to the orange sweet. In aromatherapy the bitter orange bigarade is used as digestive bitter and colagogo (stimulates the secretion biliary), carminative, antioxidant, anxiolytic moderate and as aromatizing in liquoristic traditional (Cointreau, Grand Marnier). Photosensitizing if pressofrigido. Top note citrusy, slightly bitter and more warm of the orange sweet.
