Plant description

Extracted by steam distillation from the leaves and from the twigs of Kunzea ericoides (TO.Rich.) Joy Thomps. (kanuka, New Zealand white tea tree), large shrub or tree of the Myrtaceae endemic of the Nuova Zelanda, where grows to quote low in the forests coastal and on the colline, often in association with the manuka (Leptospermum scoparium). The kanuka is often confuso with the manuka in the letteratura of aromatherapy and in the commercio, nonostant differiscano significativaly for composition and properties: the manuka is ricco in flavesone, leptospermone and triketoni (alta antibacterial activity), mentre the kanuka has a profile more mite dominated from α-pinene (50-60%), β-pinene and limonene. This composition more monoterpenic provides to the kanuka eccellent properties antiinfiammatorie, antireumatic and analgesic, with minor antibacterial activity compared to the manuka. In aromatherapy it is used as anti-inflammatory joint, analgesic muscular, tonic of the nervous system and as expectorant light. is recommended for arthritis, rheumatism and muscle pain cronic. Top-to-heart note fresh, resinous and lievely medicinal.

Bosco neozelandese

2 drops of Kanuka + 2 drops of Manuka + 2 drops of Scots Pine in the diffuser. Fresh and purifying.

Balm muscular sweet

3 drops of Kanuka + 3 drops of Lavender + 2 drops of Eucalyptus radiata in 30 ml of carrier oil. Massage on muscles tired.

Contraindications
Generally well tolerated, one of the oils more sicuri also on sensory skin. Avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding for precaution. Do not apply undiluted in the eyes or mucous membranes.
