Plant description

Obtained for steam distillation or for solvent extraction (resin/oleoresina gommous) from Cistus ladanifer L. (cisto ladanifero, ladanum, gum cistus), shrub of the Cistacee widespread on the garighe of the penisola iberic and of the Nordafrica. The ladano and specificaly the name of the gommoresina secreta from the peli ghiandolari of the leaves and of the young branches of C. ladanifer — harvested traditionally pettinando the capre which pascolavano among the cespugli of cisto, poiche the resin si appiccicava to the loro mantello. Known fin dto the antichita egizia as ingredient of the kyphi (fragrance sacro), citato in the testi assiri and in the Esodo biblic. Main uses

Recipes & blends

Cicatrizzante skin excellent

3 drops Ladano + 2 drops Lavender + 2 drops Helichrysum in 30 ml of rosehip oil. Apply to scars recenti, strie and areas with scarsa rigeneration skin.

Fissativo blend scented ambrato

2 drops Ladano + 3 drops Patchouli + 2 drops Rose in the diffuser. The ladano sets and prolunga the persistenza of the blend with the its base animal-muschiata.
