Extracted by steam distillation from the seeds dried of Apium graveolens L. (celery, celery from costa, celery rapa), plant biennal of the Apiaceae native of the coasts atlantic europee and of the Mediterranean, cultivated universally as ortaggio and aromatic from over 3.000 years. The phytochemical profile of the oil of seeds is dominated from ftalidi — ligustilide (40-70%), butilftaalide and sedanenolide — composti eterociclic ossigenati which provide the aroma characteristic, with β-selinene and β-phellandrene.
